Commissions

Paintings are a fabulous, lasting and special way to celebrate a person, place or animal. Portraits have always captured and celebrated people, their achievements and their spirit in a way that a photo cannot. They are a way to preserve the image and personality of a loved one, or a gift to yourself to enable you to see yourself in a different way.
If you commission me,
I can work from photographs, and can advise what type of picture works best. I am also happy to visit you to take photographs and sketches and talk to you before starting work.

You’re bound to have lots of questions about the process of commissioning a painting. It’s a collaboration between you and me while we discuss the image and decide what to put into a final painting. I’ve written a little bit about the process here – Everything you need to know about commissions but are afraid to ask. If you need advice about reference photos, I’ve written a post about good reference photos for portraits that I hope will help you and if you’d like to find out more please get in touch using the form below.

I am truly lost for words, it is STUNNING…Thank you so much.
You have lifted me up and made me see myself as the strong woman in that picture, I adore it, it’s amazing! – JF
